Menu

When you press the shutter button to activate Tamagotchi from Energy-Saving Mode or upon starting the game, you will be in the Living Room of the Tamagotchi House. This is the Home Screen of the game. From here you can press the A button to bring up the menu. Once in the menu, press A to move to the next option, B to select an option, and C to cancel. Once the menu is open, you can also swipe left or right to swap between pages of icons on the menu.

Without opening the menu, from the Living Room screen you can swipe left or right to swap between different areas of the house. The areas you can visit are the Garden and the Character Room. The other screen you can view this way is the Clock.

The first option on the main menu is Status. From here you can see more detailed information about Tamagotchi as well as change your greeting.

Tama Stats

By clicking Tama Stats you can see detailed information about Tamagotchi. Press A button to change pages. The first page has Tamagotchi's Happy and Hunger meters, your current friendship with Tamagotchi, and the amount of Gotchi Points you currently have. The second page shows your nickname, the name of the Tamagotchi character you are raising, which generation and gender it is, along with its age.

Happiness is represented as a meter made of small colored bars. Happiness has a wide range of values, with each bar representing about 5 points of happiness.

Hunger is represented by rice balls. The number of rice balls displayed is how full Tamagotchi is. Tamagotchi is completely full when all 6 rice balls are displayed.

There are five levels of friendship that can be displayed:

  1. Normal
  2. Friendly
  3. Friends
  4. Good Buddies
  5. Best Pals

Profile

By clicking Profile you can see more information about yourself. Press the A button to change pages. The first page shows your nickname and birthdate. The second page shows your current greeting. Press B button on the Greeting page to change your greeting. Your greeting will be viewable when interacting with other Tamagotchi Pix devices either by connecting and visiting, giving items or profiles, or meeting up to send mail.

The second option on the main menu is Feed. From here you can feed Tamagotchi meals or snacks to fill its Happy and Hungry meters. Meals are indicated by a bowl of rice in the top-right corner of the screen, while snacks are indicated by a wrapped piece of candy. Meals restore Tamagotchi's hunger while Snacks restore Tamagotchi's happiness.

When restoring hunger, Bagel restores 1 hunger point, and Milk restores 2 hunger points. Meals from the Food or Special menu of the Restaurant will restore 2 hunger points. Meals made by Cooking or bought from the Daily Menu of the Restaurant will restore 3 hunger points.

Fridge

You can feed or delete items from your fridge. Cooked items can be stored in the fridge if you choose so after cooking. Other methods can be used to obtain foods for your fridge, such as Missions from the official Tamagotchi website or gathering them from the Garden.

Restaurant

You can spend Gotchi Points to buy and eat food items from the Restaurant. You cannot take home items from the Restaurant to store in the Fridge. There are four options in the Restaurant menu:

  • FOOD - Buy Meals for Tamagotchi. These items are always the same.
  • SNACKS - Buy Snacks for Tamagotchi. These items are always the same.
  • SPECIAL - Buy Meals or Snacks for Tamagotchi. These items change by time of day and day of the week.
  • DAILY MENU - Buy Meals or Snacks for Tamagotchi. These items change each day and are based on items you placed in the fridge previously.

Cook

You can cook food for your Tamagotchi. You will be prompted to take two food pictures. The primary color from these pictures will be used as ingredients in cooking. The possible colors you can obtain from photos are Black, White, Yellow, Blue, and Red. Each combination of colors has a variety of different foods that may be cooked with them.

Once you take your photos, press the B button to put each ingredient in the pot, then swipe repeatedly to stir the pot. After sufficient stirring, a Meal or Snack will be randomly created. You can choose to put the item in the Fridge or eat it right away. If Tamagotchi does not want to eat, the item will go to the Fridge. If there are too many items in the Fridge, you will have to delete one. If you cancel without deleting an item from the fridge, the item you are making room for will be deleted instead.

From the Play menu, you can choose between two different games to play with Tamagotchi. Games will refill Tamagotchi's Happy meter. You can only play games with Tamagotchi once it is Child stage or older; Baby Tamagotchi cannot play games. The two games you can choose from are Hula Hoop and Matching.

Hula Hoop

Swipe left or right repeatedly to spin the hula hoop around Tamagotchi. The goal is to find a pacing that will let Tamagotchi have fun. Too fast or too slow will frustrate Tamagotchi. The longer you keep Tamagotchi entertained, the better your ranking.

Matching

Choose a card and try to match the one Tamagotchi has picked. There is no way to know which card is a match; it is completely up to luck. When it is your turn, press the A button to change card selection, and B button to choose the card you want to pick. If the cards match, you will gain a point. There are four rounds. The more points you score, the better your ranking.

The Bathroom option allows you to clean up after Tamagotchi. If you select the Bathroom option while there is poop on the floor, you will be returned to the Living Room screen. Swipe left to flush the poop that is on the floor.

Toilet

If you catch Tamagotchi in distress as it is about to poop, you can quickly select the Toilet option to take Tamagotchi to the bathroom so it can poop on the toilet.

Bath

You can choose the Bath option to give Tamagotchi a bath. Repeatedly press the B button to lather and rinse Tamagotchi until the bath is completed.

Clean

The Clean option from the Bathroom menu will bring out Tamagotchi's vacuum cleaner. While it is prepared on the Living Room screen, swipe left to sweep the house.

From the Item Box, you can view and use items you have purchased or otherwise obtained. This is the place to put on accessories, create and change décor, and play with toys and tools.

Items

You can see a list of all items you own and choose to play with one here. Press A to cycle through the items and press B to select an item to play with.

Accessory

You can see a list of all accessories you own and choose to have Tamagotchi wear one here. Press A to cycle through accessories and B to choose the one you want to wear. Only Adult Tamagotchi can wear accessories and only one accessory can be worn at a time. Choose the "Remove" option to get rid of an accessory you are already wearing and wear nothing instead.

Furniture

You can choose to decorate the Living Room with furniture. Choose which side of the Living Room you want to decorate, then choose a furniture item to be placed there. Certain items can only be placed on certain sides of the Living Room. Choose the "Remove" option to get rid of a furniture that is already placed.

Décor

From the Décor menu, you can create new Décor items, which include furniture and accessories, for your Tamagotchi. First you must capture a color using the camera. The available colors are Red, Blue, Yellow, and White. Next, select a Décor item to create then choose one of your captured colors to create it with. You will create the Décor item in the color scheme you chose. Afterward, the item will be stored in the Item Box in either Accessory or Furniture depending on the type of item created.

Special

????

There are many places to visit outside of Tamagotchi's home. Going out is a way you can meet new Tamagotchi friends, go shopping, and play games to earn Gotchi Points.

Explore

Explore will allow Tamagotchi to explore the real world on Earth. Point your camera at the place you want Tamagotchi to go. While the camera icon is shown in the bottom-left corner of the screen, this is a photo opportunity. Press the shutter button during a photo opportunity to take a picture with Tamagotchi. While exploring, Tamagotchi can run into other characters. Characters you have not met before will be added to the Tama List of the notebook after exploring.

Tama Store

Going to the Tama Store will allow Tamagotchi to do some shopping or enter the daily Prize Draw. There are four different shopping options:

  • Room allows you to change the look of the Living Room. Even after changing, you'll have to pay again every time you want to return to an old style, as the cost is for the rennovation and not for owning the room itself.
  • Item allows you to buy items that you can play with from your Item Box.
  • Accessory allows you to buy accessories for Tamagotchi to wear.
  • Prize Draw allows you to enter the daily Prize Draw. To draw, swipe left or right while at the mechanism.

The Daily Prize Draw can be pulled from once a day, and there are a total of five different placements you can draw:

Place Color Prize
1st 200G
2nd G
3rd 20G
4th Spiral Lollipop
5th Nothing

Arcade

At the Arcade, you can play one of six games to earn Gotchi Points. Two games will be available each day based on the daily theme. In addition to earning Gotchi Points, playing games at the Arcade refills Tamagotchi's Happy meter.

See the Arcade page for more detailed information on the Arcade and its games.

Park

Tamagotchi can visit the park to possibly meet new friends. New friends met at the park will be added to your Tama List in the Notebook. They also can give interesting information.

Photos

At the Photos station, you can have photo opportunities with Tamagotchi. Choose to take Outdoor (AR camera) photos or Studio (digital background) photos. While posing for the photo, press the B button to make Tamagotchi stand closer or farther from the screen. Press the shutter button to take a photo.

From the Camera menu, you can take new photos or view photos you have already taken in your Album.

Take Photo

You can choose to take a photo Outside (taking a picture of the real world with the camera) or Inside (taking a picture around the digital Tamagotchi House with Tamagotchi).

Album

You can look through the photos you have already taken and edit or upload them with a caption to the Social section of the Phone. You can add filters or stickers through editing, as well as remove filters and stickers that you have added.

The Phone can be used to call for a variety of services.

Social

You can view the photos you've uploaded from the Album here. Your photos will get reactions from Tamagotchi friends that you've met in your Tama List.

Food

You can order food to be delivered by Nazotchi to Tamagotchi here. The menu is the same as the Restaurant, minus the Specials. Nazotchi will ring the doorbell and deliver your food once some time has passed.

E-Shop

You can order exclusive Furniture through the E-Shop. Nazotchi will ring the doorbell and deliver your new furniture once some time has passed.

Ambulance

If Tamagotchi is being haunted by the Grim Gotchi, it is in danger of dying! In case of this emergency, use the Phone to call for the Ambulance to save Tamagotchi from death.

Sitter

A Sitter can be hired between 7:00AM and 6:55PM from the Phone, which costs 100G. While the Sitter is watching your Tamagotchi, it will take care of its needs, so the Happy and Hunger meters will not fall. Pressing the A or B button before 7:00PM will allow you to send the Sitter away. If you wait until after 7:00PM, the Sitter will leave on its own and Tamagotchi's Happy meter will fall because it was neglected.

You can't call the Sitter if the Happy or Hunger meters are at zero.

Using the Connect menu you can utilize QR codes called Tama Codes to interact with other Tamagotchi Pix devices and the Official Tamagotchi Website. When sending a Tama Code, the code will be displayed on the screen. Once it has been read and you no longer need it, press the A or B button to bring up the Confirmation screen. Choose "YES" to dismiss the Tama Code. When reading a Tama Code from another device, make sure the screen brightness behind the Tama Code is high enough so that the Tama Code can be read properly, and make sure that the Tama Code fits within the guidebox.

Playdate

You can have a playdate with another Tamagotchi Pix device. One caretaker should choose Visit and the other should choose Invite.

The caretaker who chose Visit will have a Tama Code displayed on the screen. After the other player has read the Tama Code and you are done playing, press all three buttons at once to bring up the Go Home Confirmation screen.

The caretaker who chose Invite will have the camera turn on. Read the Tama Code of the friend you want to come play. Once the other Tamagotchi character arrives, you can choose to cook together, explore together, or send the friend home.

Gifts

With the Gifts function, you can send and receive gifts with other Tamagotchi Pix devices.

To exchange a gift with other caretaker, one should choose Give and the other should choose Receive. Next, choose whether you'd like to trade Items or Profile. With Items, you can send Fridge foods and snacks (excluding Milk, Cookie, Bagel, and Lollipop), Item Box toys (excluding Building Blocks, Rattle, and Décor items), Furniture (that is not in use), Accessories (that are not in use), or Room Wallpaper (that has been obtained through Download). After selecting what item you want to send on the device that selected Give or after selecting to send a Profile, a Tama Code will appear. The device that selected Receive will have the camera turn on to read the Tama Code. Read the Tama Code with the Receiving device to receive the item or Profile. Profiles will be added to your Friends list in the Notebook.

Download

The camera will turn on and you can scan a Tama Code, such as those found on the Official Tamagotchi Website by playing Missions. Foods and Snacks will be stored in the Fridge, Items, Accessories, and Furniture will be stored in the Item Box, and Room Wallpaper will become available permanently from the Tama Store. Note that you will still have to pay the rennovation fee in Gotchi Points to change Room Wallpapers.

Meet Up

You can organize a Tamagotchi character meetup by sending and receiving invitational mail. One caretaker should choose Send Mail and the other should choose Get Mail.

The caretaker who chooses Send Mail will choose the friend to send the invitation to (you can also choose "anyone"), the time of the meetup, and a food item to bring as a gift. You can choose "Do Not Choose" if you don't want to take a food item. The item will be removed from the Fridge.

Once you have finished setting up the mail, you will be asked to confirm, and a Tama Code will be displayed. Read it with the device that selected Get Mail.

After the mail has been delivered, each Tamagotchi character will attend the meetup at the specified time. They will return from the meetup after 10 minutes. The Sitter may not be called on a meetup day.

If your Tamagotchi has a Tamagotchi Cold or a Cavity, you can summon medicine to make it feel better. Sometimes it takes more than one dose. Instead of navigating to the Medicine menu, you can also press A, B, and C buttons simultaneously from the Living Room to call the medicine.

Ambulance

If the Grim Gotchi is haunting Tamagotchi, it is soon to die. Call the ambulance to rescue it!

The notebook contains a history of various play data from your time spent using your Tamagotchi Pix device. You can see records of the Tamagotchi characters you have raised, Tamagotchi characters you have met, Recipes and food items you've found, Items you've found, and see information on your Friends you've added through the Connect feature.

You can press the C button to return to a previously highlighted number. After pressing the B button on the last number (the year), the time will be set.

Brightness

You can change the brightness of the Tamagotchi Pix device's screen here. Press the A button to make the screen darker, and press the B button to make the screen lighter. Press the C button to leave the menu and confirm the selection. Note that a brighter screen will deplete the batteries more quickly.

Sound

You can turn the sound on or off.
